After a decade of rummaging in the designing, waiting, and building this one structure of a Mandeville Canyon home in Los Angeles, California, Rockefeller Partners Architects cannot be happier for the end result that they have finally achieved. Designed and built based on the area’ unique structure and the owner’s lifestyle, the residence is a perfect outcome of architectural work. And in that also as a happy reminder for everyone involved in the building and living inside.
Being concerned with the wellbeing and the future of their family, the owners who had experienced no less than eight houses in a span of ten years decided that it was time for them to have a house of their own. Houses that accommodate the needs of all the residents even its small residents now that the couple had two small kids in the family. Common Los Angeles urban scenes were not what they thought best for their kids and family growing up together.
The first time they surveyed the location on which the structure is now standing, they knew that that was the place for them. They started brainstorming ideas for the house of their dreams. Learning from and browsing through every source for architecture available. The perfect architectural firm to assist them with their dreams had yet to be decided. But when they found that the Rockefeller Partners Architects is the firm that built three of their previous houses and worked on the land when it still belonged to the previous owner, they found their perfect match.
Then the work began. Both the owners and the architects worked together to achieve the ideal home for the family. One that got the best of the surrounding and was dedicated to complementing it as well. The design was made based on the typography of the land. Local materials were used. And space lies among the richness of nature rather than demolishing it. Check out the photos below to see this amazing structure.
