Kelley S. Willhite House December 26th 2018, 12:15:48
The Elm House is sitting on a piece of land in Krisana Park. Krisana Park is simply one of the nicest neighborhoods with the mid-century modern atmosphere in Denver, Colorado. The residential building was originally built by HB Wolff & Co in 1955. It was then totally rebuilt and renovated top to bottom by developer and designer Mitchell Weisberg in 2008. The idea that was the goal of the renovation was to bring out the best features possible with what they already had there.
The Elm House is simply stunning. It stands and becomes the symbol that states that it is possible and of course doable to combine rustic elements with modern elements in reaching very sophisticated looks. The house features woods in natural color in abundance. However, it is also showcasing a lot of steel materials around the house, not only in the kitchen appliances but also in the furniture and accessories placed very carefully and wisely.
In an effort to emphasize the rustic look throughout the very modern lines and cuts, natural stone is also used. It is used in the fireplace, the garden, the sitting porch outside, as well as in the bathroom. Small potted plants are smartly placed inside to freshen up the already airy place (made possible by using simple furniture and appliance and also minimal clutter) besides used as accessory and accent for the spaces they are placed.
The house is kept simple and small, leaving the land with large space of the garden, plenty of fresh air and ways for air and natural light to enter the interior, which is also helped by the use of big glass doors. The Elm House was put into the market in early 2009 with a price tag of $582,000.
