In Rome, Italy, what €250.000 can give you? A lot of things, I am sure. But it can also give you a fabulous dream apartment renovation by an Italian architect, none other than the renowned Carola Vannini. €250.000 was the total budget which was spent by the owner of the Celio Apartment near the Colosseo area. The already luxurious Celio Apartment was renovated and reorganized by the architect based on a detailed and complete design plan.
As per the owners’ request, the aim of the renovation was to open up space towards the landscape outside and in the making generating design plan that has strong characteristics of light and airy spaces. Most windows were reopened. Then the distribution of the interior was changed in creating multiple perspectives under just one structure. The main area is obviously the kitchen with volume so big that connects both the main entrance as well as the living room.
The kitchen, the living room, and the main entrance are called the day area, which mostly accommodates the active activities. The living room of the Celio was given minimal flair keeping the area simple. A balance to the interior architecture was created by the use of the furniture which was designed by the architect herself. A very carefully studied lighting system was put in an effort to emphasize the space depth and perspectives. Wooden floor and black frames for doors and windows were most used.
The night area is where the three bedrooms with three bathrooms as well as one office space located. The colors are used in combination of warm colors, light colors, and bright as well as bold colors either as accents or the main colors of the spaces. Wall lighting is also used is an abundance to control the atmosphere of the rooms. For a better understanding of the apartment, check out the photos that were taken by the architect herself below.
